Use Settings > Translations in Color Swatches to enter translations for product-group swatch names, option names, and supported widget text. Editing these translations requires the app's Advanced or Premium plan.
Shopify variant option names and values follow a different path: translate those in Shopify, as described below.
Translate product-group text
Set up the language you want to use in Shopify first. Then:
Open Settings > Translations in Color Swatches.
Choose the target language at the top of the page.
For an additional language, select All markets to use the same translation wherever that language is used, or choose a specific market for different wording there.
Find the text under Source text and enter its translation in the field beside it.
Select Save before moving to another page, language, or market.
For example, translate the option name Color to Couleur and the swatch name Black to Noir for French. The app also lists supported widget text, such as the show-more button and collection color-count text.
Use the search field to find a label. The All, Not translated, and Translated tabs help you work through the list.
Translations change the text shoppers see. They do not change swatch colors or images. The group's internal title is separate from its storefront option name.
Use different wording by market
A translation saved for a specific language and market takes priority over the translation saved for that language under All markets.
For example, you can use different wording for French in Canada and France. You can also select your store's default language and a specific market to adapt wording for that market.
If there is no translation for the current selection, the app uses an available fallback or the original source text.
Translate Shopify variant names and values
For choices within a single Shopify product, translate the product's option names and values in Shopify, for example with Shopify Translate & Adapt. This is where you translate a variant option such as Color and its values such as Black and Blue.
Color Swatches reads those translations from Shopify. After updating them, open Variant swatches in Color Swatches and select Sync options. Wait for the sync to finish, then check the product page in the target language.
Changing a swatch's color or image assignment does not translate or rename the Shopify option value.
If a translation is missing
Nothing to translate yet: the app currently sees only one language and one market. Add the additional language or market in Shopify first.
Fields are disabled: check Billing. Editing app translations requires Advanced or Premium. These are Color Swatches plans, separate from your Shopify plan.
The original text still appears: confirm that you saved the translation for the language and market selected on the storefront. Check whether the text belongs to a product group or a Shopify variant, then use the matching procedure above.
An existing Shopify language is missing, or saved text still does not appear: contact support with the product URL, language, market, original text, and expected translation. Include any permission or sync message shown in the app.
